Each detention facility presents its own unique requirements for security fencing. This youth detention facility was replacing the existing six foot chainlink fence with a sixteen foot overall fence with an arch at the top of the posts to create an overhang to prevent inmates from climbing over the fence. The project also included two sallyports with overhead slide gates equipped with Hy-Security operators.

Job-Site Safety The size and weight of the materials for this project posed out-of-the-ordinary safety problems. Daily planning, communication and training played an important role in a perfect safety record with over four thousand man hours logged. By installing the posts in sections, we minimized the potential for lifting injuries. The use of the Installink and our Steelock fabricated spooler also proved successful in minimizing the heavy equipment and sophisticated tools than most projects. The installers and welders were working at high elevations and in close proximity of each other increasing the risk.
This project was both challenging in expertise and safety and everyone on the "Steelock Team" was very successful at both.
